I'd have to say my first karaoke experience was the most interesting! I've always been a singer, in the choir all throughout junior high and high school.
My father-in-law loves to sing too, and when he was newly single, he discovered karaoke. He'd frequent the bars on karaoke night. I was only 19 at the time, so I wasn't able to go to a lot of places because I was underage, but he found one place that was a restaurant as well, so we were able to go and see what the buzz was all about.

I wanted to try it, but I had never sung in front of a crowd by myself or as a soloist before, so I was pretty nervous. Well, unbeknownst to me, when I went to the bathroom, he submitted my name! Imagine my shock when they called me up to sing! A friend of ours was with us, and I begged her to come up and sing with me. She did, but once I got started, I didn't need her!

Once I did it the first time and got over the nerves, I loved it! We have a karaoke machine at home and it's actually a favorite activity with our family, and always fun when friends come over!
